Paul Milano

Bachelors in Strength and Conditioning w/ minor in Nutrition for Exercise and Sport, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms), Certified Program Design Specialist (CPDS), Elite Powerlifter

Paul fell in love with lifting weights in high school while training for lacrosse and wrestling. He found himself in love with the process, trying to learn anything he could to make himself better on the field.  I guess you could say this is when his coaching career started. Paul began to train the whole lacrosse team and decided to pass up playing lacrosse in college to go to the University of Connecticut and major in Kinesiology, concentrating in Strength and Conditioning, with a minor in Nutrition for Sports Performance.  During his senior year, he got the opportunity to start a Strength and Conditioning program at St. Paul’s High School in Bristol. Upon building a program that a majority of athletes participated in, he was offered an opportunity to explore the field from a physical therapist point of view, becoming a physical therapy aide. Now he can’t wait to share the amazing positive impact the iron has with everyone.

When he is not coaching you can find him competing in various strength sports such as powerlifting and strongman. He has competed in numerous strongman competitions, including two national level shows where he finished top 10 and top 20 respectively. More recently in powerlifting, he squatted 650, benched 425, and deadlifted 730.

Besides strength, Paul also has a love for sneakers, having amassed a collection of over 400 pairs! He has yet to wear the same pair of sneakers since starting his coaching position at FMA.
